This year marks the 28th anniversary of Car D’Lane. The Downtown Association of Coeur d’Alene.
Every June, the city of Coeur d’Alene hosts a car d’lane parade and car exhibition. This year’s vintage vehicle procession blasted down Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and it was a blast.
There were a lot of people watching on the streets. The Coeur d’Alene Resort was jam-packed with visitors, and the Car D’Lane Parade put on a fantastic show. In an entertaining performance, the RED HOT MAMAS got the procession started off right.
In addition to the classic vehicle procession, the vendor booths were packed with delighted consumers, the children were giggling, and the video cameras were all fixed on the event in general. There were pre-1975 automobiles and vehicles of various types and makes on display at the 2018 Classic Car Show.
All of the car entries were gathered on East Lakeside Avenue, where they were lined up in anticipation of the starting pistol. The automobiles were getting their final cleaning, and the drivers were catching up on their lives and exchanging their experiences.
It is time for the Car d’Alene Parade to begin, and the applause begins. Seeing the classic Camaros, Model- T’s, Lola, Mustang’s, Chevrolets, Volkswagen Buses, Vans and Firetrucks, as well as Hearst, Trans Ams, T-Birds, VW Bugs, Fiats and many other vehicles, was a highlight of the event.
All around us, the bands were rocking, the police officers were directing traffic and smiling, and the cotton candy was melting away. It was a perfect day for a carnival.
Beautiful summer evening in the heart of downtown Coeur d’Alene.
