Tyler Alvarado, John Swallow, and Ken Tyler co-founded the company in 2015, and it has grown rapidly since then. 15 issued patents, 90 non-provisional patent applications covering 250 concepts, and 50 foreign patent applications in 15 countries are among the company’s accomplishments.
In their facility near Lake Coeur d’Alene in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Continuous Composites uses composite material, 3-D printers, and on-site robotics to make composite goods, which they sell to other businesses. Changes in the way things are manufactured have been made.
When this article was published, Continuous Composites had 20 employees and was actively recruiting new people as rapidly as they could find them. The Rocker Room is equipped with two self-contained linear axis rails 40 feet in length, each of which is equipped with industrial robotic arms installed on pedestals, allowing robots to travel linearly 40 feet, reach across 10 feet, and reach up 15 feet with ease. It has the capability of printing a boat, a small airplane, or an automobile with four robots.
In addition, Continuous Composites was awarded the Innovation of the Year Award in the 3-D printing category at the JEC World 2019 conference in Paris this week.
